What is the Aboriginal Centre of Excellence?
The centre will provide long and short term boarding facilities for young Aboriginal students wishing to pursue their education in the metropolitan area. Port Adelaide is highly regarded for its Aboriginal programs and cultural awareness training.

Where will it be located?
It will be on the Alberton Oval precinct, but the final location is still being determined.

How many students will it take?
We expect it will hold about 50 male and female students between the ages of 15 and 17 from indigenous communities across the State.

When will construction start?
We won’t be starting construction until the Centre is fully funded. We were provided with $4 million by the Federal Government last year and have received a commitment for $6 million from SA Best if it should win the balance of power in the State election on March 17.

Why is Port Adelaide building this facility?
PAFC has a strong commitment towards the development of young indigenous footballers as they complete their education. We also have industry leading Aboriginal programs and cultural awareness training. This centre allows us to consolidate these programs on the one site.
