OLLIE WINES was among four players to be given full marks by the AFL coaches out of the matches in Round 12.
The Port Adelaide vice-captain scored a perfect 10 votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award in Friday night’s win over Richmond.
Wines gathered 29 disposals - 16 of them contested - including a season-high 18 kicks.
He had four marks, seven clearances, and a career-high 12 tackles.
Justin Westhoff, Sam Powell-Pepper, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Chad Wingard each received four votes out of the gutsy win over the reigning premiers, while Jared Polec was given two.
Richmond’s Jayden Short was the only player from his side to poll, taking home two votes as well.
Wines, Gary Ablett (Geelong), Jeremy Cameron (GWS), and Adam Cerra (Fremantle) all received the maximum ten votes from the AFL coaches on the weekend.
Despite being suspended, Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe has retained the outright lead in the award, but nine votes to Collingwood’s Steele Sidebottom has seen him leapfrog Carlton’s Patrick Cripps into second, with Trent Cotchin and Max Gawn retaining their positions in the top five.
