PORT Adelaide will wait until the appointment of its senior coach before making a decision on the futures of a number of its players, including David Rodan.

Power football manager Peter Rohde said the club would assess the future of Rodan, and others, once it had sorted out their coaching situation.

"It's fair to say [Rodan] had a pretty disappointing end to the season, Rohde told Gillette Trade Radio on Wednesday.

"We won't make a decision on him, and probably three or four others, until we appoint the coach and the coach has some input in to those sorts of decisions."

In the absence of a senior coach, Rohde, list manager Jason Cripps and recruiting manager Geoff Parker are in charge of the key decisions at the Power.

Rohde said the club would likely be a willing participant once the trade period begins on Monday.

"I think it's fair to say we'll be exploring every possibility that we can."

"We need to bring some experience in, to help our young players on the way through."
