PORT ADELAIDE defender Tom Jonas could be available for selection for Friday night’s blockbuster against Melbourne at Adelaide Oval.
Jonas injured his hamstring in the Power’s win over Richmond in Round 12 but managed to play out the game.
He missed the win over the Western Bulldogs in Round 13 but will be assessed at training this week to determine whether he is fit to return.
Fellow defender Darcy Byrne-Jones will also be assessed after reporting a hamstring issue during the Bulldogs game.
Jarrod Lienert has recovered from a knee injury which required surgery but is likely to have to wait another week to return to the field because of the Magpies’ bye in the SANFL.
In other positive news, defender Matthew Broadbent is close to resuming from a long-term ankle injury.
No fresh injury concerns were reported out of Port Adelaide’s seven-point win over reigning SANFL premier Sturt on Sunday.
