PORT ADELAIDE has been consigned to a fourth straight loss in the SANFL, going down by 35 points to Glenelg at Alberton Oval on Saturday afternoon.

For the second week in a row, the Magpies showed good intent in the early stages but failed to make it count on the scoreboard.

Despite having the first five inside 50s, the home side managed just three behinds before the Tigers went down the other end and booted two goals from their first two attacks.

The Magpies’ inaccuracy continued throughout the quarter and at the first change they were goalless, having kicked six points.

It wasn’t until the five-minute mark of the second quarter that Port had its first goal, when Jake Patmore marked on the lead and slotted a goal from 45 metres out on a slight angle.

Kane Farrell then imposed himself on the contest, and he looked to be the Magpies’ most dangerous forward with two goals from two strong marks.

But the Bays just seemed to have the answers, responding each time with five goals straight in the second term.

The home side’s cause wasn’t aided by a couple of controversial umpiring decisions inside 50 that resulted in Glenelg goals, and suddenly the lead was 25-points at the main break.

Things didn’t change in the third term, despite a promising start when second-gamer Harrison Morgan booted a goal inside three minutes.

Ruckman Billy Frampton added another later, but every time the Magpies closed the gap, the Tigers responded.

Turnovers and ill-discipline gifted the Bays goals just before the three-quarter time siren, and the Magpies trailed by 39-points at the final change.

While the game was all but over, Luke Reynolds was determined to put an exclamation mark on the result with four goals in the quarter to make it six for the game.

Jimmy Toumpas, Billy Frampton and Jake Neade added majors for the Magpies to add some respect but the Tigers proved too strong to ensure they would leapfrog Port into
