PORT ADELAIDE will play a home elimination final in the opening week of the 2017 AFL Finals Series.

Richmond's big win over St Kilda on Sunday afternoon ensured the Tigers jumped to third on the ladder, squeezing Port out of the race for a double chance.

Despite the Power jumping to fourth on the back of their 115-point win over Gold Coast overnight, it seemed unlikely they would hold that spot with Richmond's 'on-paper' superiority to the Saints.

Richmond's result, combined with Geelong's win last night, confirms the first week of qualifying finals, with the Crows to host the Giants and the Cats and Tigers to play off as well.

The winner of Port's elimination final would play the loser of the Crows-Giants clash.

Wait and see on Eagles-Crows

Port's opponent for Week 1 of finals remains uncertain, with West Coast currently playing the Crows in Perth. You can follow our Super Sunday Live Ladder here to see who Port is currently set to play.

If the Eagles win by enough, they will push Melbourne out of eighth spot and travel in the first week of finals.
