PORT ADELAIDE'S players have made their first of a two yearly charity donations to the club's Aboriginal AFL Academy, which is operated in conjunction with the SA Aboriginal Sports Training Academy.
Brendon Ah Chee, Karl Amon, Tom Jonas and Jack Hombsch were on hand to present the giant cheque from AFL Players at Simonds Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
The $5,000 will go towards facilitating the Academy program, which provides education and football participation outcomes to its participants.
The Academy, which is a separate program from Port Adelaide's AFL Next Generation Academy structure, is currently touring Victoria as part of the AFL's Sir Douglas Nicholls Indigenous Round.
The team defeated Parkdale Secondary College by 46 points on Tuesday and is currently in Geelong for Thursday night's round-opener between the Power and Cats.
