ROBBIE GRAY and Dougal Howard were the only two Port Adelaide players to poll any votes in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award out of their side’s loss to Hawthorn in Launceston on Saturday.
Gray was given two votes by the coaches after booting four goals from 13 possessions.
The 30-year-old also had two marks and two tackles.
Howard was awarded one vote, his first of the season, after racking up 13 touches, seven marks and four rebound 50s.
The 22-year-old also had eleven one-percenters and one inside 50.
Hawthorn’s Shaun Burgoyne and James Sicily each received nine of a possible ten votes, while Jack Gunston, Liam Shiels and Ben McEvoy each got three.
Mitch Duncan (Geelong), Shane Edwards (Richmond), Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne), Josh Kennedy (West Coast), Tom Phillips (Coll), Dylan Shiel (GWS) and Callum Sinclair (Sydney) all received the maximum ten votes from the AFL coaches for round eleven.
The top seven on the overall leaderboard failed to poll in round eleven so Fremantle’s Nat Fyfe has retained the outright lead with Carlton’s Patrick Cripps in second.
