A LOSS to Essendon and a big win in the SANFL over West will open the door for Port Adelaide to make changes this week.

But Ken Hinkley might resist making wholesale changes to the Power line-up, stating his preference to trust the current line-up after the loss on Saturday.

Still, the Magpies have been running hot and a shock 70-point loss might be used to shake things up. So who’s in form?

Aaron Young was one of Port’s best, with 36 disposals, 13 inside-50s and five goals to his name.

Dougal Howard booted eight in attack after spending several weeks down back.

But the consistent Magpies include youngsters like Willem Drew and Joe Atley – both taken by Port at the last draft.

Jesse Palmer and Logan Austin have also been among Port’s consistent contributors.

Jarrod Lienert and Emmanuel Irra – both among the Magpies’ better players against West – are ineligible to play for the Power under current rookie rules.

But with their NEAFL side beating the Suns, there could be some candidates looking to push up.

Claye Beams had 28 disposals and eight marks in a best-on-ground effort for the state league Lions, while Liam Dawson (22 disposals) and Josh Walker (21 disposals) also handy.
