SHANE GRIMM has been appointed Port Adelaide’s new Next Generation Academy and SANFL football manager.
The former Port Adelaide player of 27 games between 1990 and 1993 will re-join the club at the start of November, replacing the Magpies’ former football manager Scott Peters in an expanded role.
That role will see him responsible for the administration of Port Adelaide’s next generation academy program as well as overseeing the club’s SANFL football operations.
Grimm is the GM of football for reigning SANFL premier Sturt, and has previously been responsible for the junior programs of state league development powerhouse Woodville-West Torrens.
Port Adelaide’s GM of football Chris Davies says Grimm’s appointment is another important step towards the launch of the Power’s new academy programs.
“We anticipate being in a position to release the detail of our academies in the coming weeks, and having Shane on board is another important step,” Davies said.
“His experience at Sturt as their GM of footy in a premiership season is a coup for us, but his experience actually working in junior development programs gives us a really strong opportunity to build constructive academies that will benefit our club and our SANFL aligned partner clubs.”
