PORT Adelaide star Robbie Gray is a chance to return from a hamstring injury in Sunday's match against Carlton at Etihad Stadium.
The hard-working midfielder completed some drills with the Power at their training session at Adelaide Oval on Wednesday morning.
Gray also got through individual running exercises as he built up his fitness after missing the past two games.
Power defender Jasper Pittard said it was too early to say whether Gray would be right to play this weekend.
"He's pretty good, he's still going through his hammy program,'' Pittard said.
''He's running well and is getting relatively good, high speed.
"He joined in some drills, but it's about getting the base up and getting high speed into the legs.
''He did a little bit of stuff away from the group because we don't do all that type of running throughout the drills.''
Gray has been an All Australian for the past two seasons while also winning Port Adelaide's best and fairest in 2014 and 2015.
The news isn't as good for defender Alipate Carlile, who looks set to miss another week with a wrist injury.
The 29-year-old veteran of 167 games has been sidelined since the Power's round two loss to Adelaide.
"I wouldn't have thought he'd come back this week; he's still on the mend with the hand,'' Pittard said.
''He's moving really well, he's been doing lots of running.
''It's just a matter of when he can get into that contact phase.
''I don't think he's too far away.
''He's out of the cast, so he's another step closer.''
Power coach Ken Hinkley and the rest of the match committee face a tough ask to squeeze Carlile into a back six that has performed strongly in recent weeks.
''We're in a position where spots are pretty tight,'' Pittard said.
''Everyone is desperate to keep their spot in the team.
''Obviously off the back of two wins, the team won't change too much.
''(Carlile) is a very experienced player, adds a lot of leadership and he can take a key forward and help guys like (Jack Hombsch) and Tom Jonas out.''
