portadelaidefc.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix to play in the Power’s Indigenous Round clash against Melbourne in Alice Springs this Saturday.
Port Adelaide
With Tom Jonas out on a six-week ban for striking and Darcy Byrne-Jones to be tested following an ankle roll during the Power’s Round 9 clash with the Eagles, an opportunity could open for two defenders to top up the AFL side.
Alipate Carlile has recovered from wrist surgery, playing in the SANFL for the past two weeks. His extensive experience at the top level could see him easily slot back into the Power’s starting 22.
With nine AFL games under his belt already, young backman Tom Clurey could also be a chance – he’s been playing well for the Magpies and is versatile enough to play on a mix of opponents.
Hamish Harrtlett copped a corky to his left leg in Round 9, but he’s since been cleared to play against the Dees.

Melbourne
Small defender Neville Jetta will return from a one-game striking suspension against the Power, while Cameron Pedersen and Dom Tyson are expected to play this after being late withdrawals from the Dees’ Round 9 side due to illness.
Meanwhile young midfielder Clayton Oliver is a 50/50 chance to hit the field as he recovers from a hefty corky, according to elite performance manager Dave Misson.
“He’s pulled up pretty well, maybe the six day turn around might hurt him but he’ll be a test on Thursday – we expect he’s going to get up,” Misson said.
Christian Salem will be unavailable for selection this week due an ongoing illness.
