LIKE most athletes, AFL players are creatures of habit.
Along with regimented training schedules and personalised nutrition plans, many players have their own pre-game rituals which help them feel consistent and focussed on game day.
For Power defender-ruckman Jackson Trengove, it’s all about team entry.
When the boys run out onto the oval to Rudimental’s Not Giving In, Trengove is always the last to run up the race and hit the turf - he makes sure of it.
Even on the odd occasion where another player is held up in the changerooms – he’ll still wait for them to go first, and follow behind. Always.
Jacko says there’s no particular reason or logic to it…it’s just a superstitious habit he’s maintained for as long as he can remember.
