On the win
I'm not satisfied, but I thought we played pretty solid football for the most part of the night. We rightly copped a fair bit and had to recover some of that ... and some belief. It's a good starting point, but it's certainly not perfect.
We're not happy with our performance tonight but we're respectful to the way we played, because of the team we played against. Essendon would've seen the opportunity that everyone else would have seen when our names started dropping out of the side.
Did the Power drop away after the early stages?
I disagree with that. I thought we played four solid quarters. We held a side to 50 [points], they'd beaten Melbourne the week before, and there were things that went against us early in the week that we had to respond to and then we lost some players. It would be very disrespectful to Essendon if we said that wasn't a good performace.
What did the Power get right?
When you set up properly and you execute the way you know you can, it makes everything look a bit better. I just thought we set the ground up a bit better - defensively first and offensively second.
On Charlie Dixon
I think Charlie's going to be a pretty good player for us when we get the game played the we want to play it. He's one piece of the puzzle, but he's not all of it. The boys learned tonight how to use him a bit better.
One of the questions before the game tonight was about Charlie and how he's going. We'll he's only two games and 60 minutes into his time at Port Adelaide in-game.
