A YOUNG Power supporter has combined her passion for Port Adelaide and songwriting to put 2,000 meals on the tables of hungry South Australians.

Inspired the club’s motto - to never, ever give up and the Power’s exciting on-field performance in 2014 – 17-year-old Caitlin Webb scribed a song titled, ‘Not Giving Up’.

The song became a hit online and seeing an opportunity to embrace her club’s spirit of giving back to the community, Caitlin began selling hard copies of the song at the Port Store as a fundraising initiative for Foodbank.

She’s raised over $1,000 - which equates to a whopping 2,000 meals going to South Aussies doing it tough.

According to Caitlin, Foodbank was an obvious choice given their partnership with the club.

“We all, myself included, take food for granted - being able to come home with food on the table every night…a lot of people in our community aren’t as lucky,” Caitlin told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Foodbank are a great organisation and it feels incredible to have reached my fundraising goal and be able to give back to the community. It feels like the hard work pays off - every little bit helps.”

Foodbank CEO Greg Pattinson said they were incredibly grateful of Caitlin’s fundraising initiative and generosity.

“It’s really great to see how the cause we fight for at Foodbank touches young hearts…we have to count on the support of the whole community and it is amazing to see Caitlin representing Foodbank's young supporters - and how far they will go to help,” Greg said.

“Port supporters are the most generous and warm, always helping when we need. It is a delight for us to be their charity partner as we see that we are a charity embraced by all.

“The song is great - this girl has a future and of course, we are already her number one fans!”

Caitlin wished to thank Magpies trainer Liam Briggs and her family for their ongoing support of the project.
