LAST time Port Adelaide faced Essendon, they claimed their first win against the Bombers since 2010 and hung onto hopes of making the 2015 finals.

The Power defeated the Bombers 129-116 in Round 17, 2015 in front of 23,705 fans at the Docklands.

The Power rallied in the final term to win by 13 points, in an attempt to keep finals hopes alive with Paddy Ryder kicking four goals, including three in a tense fourth quarter.

Skipper Travis Boak impressed with 28 disposals and three tackles.

Ollie Wines and Robbie Gray finished with 16 clearances between them, which was a credit to ruckman Matthew Lobbe’s 46 hit-outs.

Port Adelaide and Essendon have met 26 times, with the Power holding 15:11 against the Bombers.

The Power managed their highest score against the Bombers in Round 1, 2004 with a 96-point win (158-62) at Football Park.

The Power holds a 57 per cent overall win percentage against Essendon.

The biggest crowd for a Power v Bombers game was 46,786 in the Round 16, 2014 clash at Adelaide Oval.
