STEVEN SUMMERTON will captain Port Adelaide in the SANFL for a third season after a vote of the Magpies playing group.
The triple A.R.McLean Medallist will continue wearing the No. 1 guernsey as skipper with the support of three other senior Magpies.
Anthony Biemans has been appointed standalone vice-captain - the first time the position has been held by just one player since the club's restructure for the 2014 season.
Louis Sharrad and 2015's best first year player Sid Masters make up the rest of the Magpies leadership group.
The Magpies leadership is a reflection of the new age of Port Adelaide football in the SANFL.
With Summerton and Sharrad, Port Adelaide's traditional metropolitan zone is represented, while Masters is a product of the club's long-term country zone development on the Eyre Peninsula.
Biemans is one of just two 'recruited' players, having previously played for South Barwon and the Geelong Falcons.
Port Adelaide's SANFL season kicks off on Thursday night when the Magpies play old rivals Norwood at The Parade.
In the AFL, Port Adelaide hosts St Kilda in AFL Opening Round on Easter Sunday, March 27 at 2:50pm (ACDT).
