Port Adelaide’s second pick in the 2016 draft is pick 17.

Since the beginning of the National Draft in 1986, 16 of the pick 17s have come from Victoria, with seven of them being drafted to Geelong.

Taken at Number 17 in the 2001 National Draft, James Kelly played 273 games with Geelong from 2002 to 2015.

He was also part of one of the all-time great sides that won three premierships with Geelong in 2007, 2009, and 2011.

Originally retiring at the end of the 2015 season, Kelly returned to AFL football to play for Essendon in 2016, while the majority of their playing list served a suspension.

Also drafted by Geelong at pick 17 in the 2007 National Draft was defender Harry Taylor.

Having played 204 games and counting, Taylor has won two premierships with Geelong in 2009 and 2011.

He was also selected as part of the All-Australian side in the 2010 and 2013 seasons.
