ONE of the AFL’s best interstate traditions will start again this weekend when Port Adelaide’s travelling army marches from Southern Cross Station to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne’s Docklands.

The Power’s membership manager Ben Demertzis says it’s a proud tradition of the Port faithful and the club and its Victorian Supporter Group will again organise marches at each of the Power’s five Melbourne-based games in 2015.

“All our supporters love the march, and it all started for us in Melbourne when we used to March to the ‘G” Demertzis told portadelaidefc.com.au

“We actually had our first march in Perth for Round 1 against Freo, and we’re hoping to have a few more at other interstate venues throughout the year.

“We’ll also try to have a march at all of our Melbourne games this year. They’ll leave from Southern Cross Station when we play at Etihad and Fed Square when we play at the MCG.”

Port Adelaide will also run a Victorian Members Day at North Port Oval – home of the Port Melbourne Football Club – on Sunday from 9:00am to 11:00pm.

Players will run football activities and sign autographs at the ground.

The March to Etihad will start from the steps of Southern Cross Station (cnr Spencer Street and Collins Street) at 6:00pm.
