PORT Adelaide’s running half-back Jasper Pittard is unlikely to play in Sunday’s Showdown against the Adelaide Crows after injuring his left ankle.
Pittard sustained the injury during a training drill at Alberton Oval on Tuesday and was sent for scans later that day.
The Power are currently waiting on the results of the scans, however Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess says Pittard is a long shot to play in the Showdown against the Crows.
ENEMY LINES: Cheney a return chance
“Jasper had scans on Tuesday and we’re waiting to get them back, but we feel it’s unlikely he’ll play at this stage,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“We’ll keep him on crutches as a precaution until we get the scans in and then make a call from there.”
The Power will name its team for Showdown XXXIX on portadelaidefc.com.au at 5:55pm on Thursday evening.
