Richmond may have found new avenues to goal with Brett Deledio and Ty Vickery combining for five goals in their Round 7 victory against Collingwood.
The influential duo could prove a potential threat to the Power when they take on the Tigers this Sunday.
Richmond defender Troy Chaplin sung their praises earlier this week, suggesting their performances were a defining factor in the Tigers’ nail-biting, five-point win over Collingwood.
Deledio earned an impressive 30 disposals, 13 marks and two goals in just his second game back after being sidelined for four rounds with a calf injury.
Chaplin described him as a “class player”.
“He is so important to us, and I think the weekend proves how valuable he is, because he can play through the middle, but then he can play one-out in the forward line,” he said.
“He kicked two clutch goals for us in that last quarter to keep us in the game and get us back on top.”
On another note, tall forward Ty Vickery earned accolades for a strong, three-goal performance.
“We thought he was absolutely exceptional down forward. He kicked straight and rewarded the hard work from down back and through the midfield, when we were able to turn the footy over,” Chaplin said of Vickery’s game.
“We thought he was brilliant for us and it's really pleasing for him, because he has copped a fair bit of criticism throughout the year and past years as well.”
On the injury front, small man Shane Edwards may be out this weekend following a late withdrawal with a corked calf in the Round 7 clash, while defender Bachar Houli remains in the grey after being taken off in the same game with a shoulder injury.
