GRAND FINAL WEEK
This week is the final week of AFL Fantasy, and for some super Fantasy coaches out there, it’s Grand Final time.
So, you’ve taken a walk through the streets of Melbourne and are bracing yourself for the huge weekend ahead. However, the main question coming through this week, is what to do with the injured Dane Swan (FWD/MID, $613,000) who is owned by over 90,000 coaches.
Here are my top options, who are set to be huge this weekend.
Tom Rockliff (MID, $623,000) is the easiest option for this week after he is coming off scores of 159, 140 and 143 in his last three games. He averages 118 against the Bulldogs in his last three and loves playing at the GABBA where he averaged 142 last year. Now is the time to get him in if you don’t already own him.
Dan Hannebery (MID, $580,000) has averaged 129 at the SCG this year and plays the Suns this week, a team he scored 133 against this year. Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID, $529,000) is clearly the best forward option for Swan, especially after he has scored 142 and 138 in his last two games and even posted 131 on the Suns in round 10 earlier this year.
PORT ADELAIDE’S 2015 FANTASY M.V.P
Robbie Gray (FWD/MID, $482,000) has averaged 97 for the year, four points behind onballer Brad Ebert. Gray has been the rock in many forward lines this year scoring over 100 on 10 occasions.
RUNNER-UP M.V.P
As a forward, Chad Wingard (FWD/MID, $482,000) has had a great year averaging 95 in his last eight games of the season. He has averaged 92 for the year, his best Fantasy season in his career.
FANTASY ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Brendon Ah Chee (MID, $308,000) although he only played a handful of games early, Ah Chee has come on very strong in the latter half of the year scoring 108, 110 and 79 in his last three games. His price has risen $270,000 and has been a savour for many Fantasy coaches this year.
2016 WATCH LIST
With the #1 ruck position in his hands, Patrick Ryder will be a targeted player in most Fantasy teams. He has averaged 90 in the past and only managed to average 76 this year. Sam Colquhoun is a defender I’ll be monitoring next pre-season after he only managed six games this year. During that time he proved he was a capable scorer posting solid scores of 81, 84 and 84.
WHAT’S COMING UP
This week Port Adelaide host Fremantle at home. Fremantle have asked the AFL for permission to bring a ‘B Team’ to the game, in an effort to rest some of their sore stars heading into finals. I know where this is heading… Port will be huge this week and the inform Hamish Hartlett who has scored 125, 123 and 107 in his last three and will be great again.
