Port Adelaide issued this statement regarding player Jarman Impey:
Jarman Impey has been fined $700 by the Adelaide Magistrates Court after pleading guilty and being convicted of driving offences committed in December last year.
Impey has apologised and pledged to learn from the incident.
“There is no excuse for my behaviour,” he said.
“I will continue working to earn the trust of my friends, teammates and the wider community.”
Impey has previously been punished by the football club, receiving the maximum fine allowable under AFL/AFLPA guidelines and a 1-match suspension.
He has committed to paying full compensation for all property damaged during the incident and will take part in the Brain Injury Network of SA’s road safety program where he will witness first-hand the impact of road trauma.
Impey and the football club now consider this matter closed.
