AMID fairy lights and smooth tunes, Port Adelaide has kicked off its 2015 campaign with a new-look season launch.
This time held in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, the Port Adelaide season launch transformed Ebenezer Place in the city's East End into a black, white and teal affair.
With chairman David Koch beaming in via video link and speeches and interviews with the figureheads of the club, including newly re-signed senior coach Ken Hinkley, it was a wonderful evening for partners, members and supporters of Port Adelaide to kick off the year.
In his key note address to the club's inner sanctum, chief executive officer Keith Thomas made several significant announcements including a new community partnership with the Childhood Cancer Association, of which skipper Travis Boak is an ambassador, saying the strengthened relationship between the two parties will see the Power provide support to the CCA "in its quest to provide essential care" to children suffering from cancer.
"... And importantly, assistance to the families whose lives get thrown into absolute chaos, once they receive the terrible news of their child's illness," Thomas said.
"Throughout the year we will be supporting Travis and Chris Hartley [CCA president] to raise awareness and funds for this most worthy cause."
Thomas pointed to key moments in the 2014 season as setting the Power up for a big campaign this year.
Those moments included not just the move to the redeveloped Adelaide Oval, but expansion into Chinese markets internationally, expanded and successful community programs in the Aboriginal and youth spaces, increases in key corporate partnerships - including premier partners OAK and the RAA this year - and an industry-leading supporter engagement level unprecedented in Australian sport.
He also emphasised the internal strength of the Power's football program, particularly after the contract extension penned recently by Ken Hinkley.
"Over the past 12 months we have systematically secured all of the key leadership pillars of our football program to ensure that we continue to build on the progress we have made over the past few years," Thomas said.
"We believe continuity and stability are crucial to success."
Port Adelaide also broadcast its brand new 2015 TVC alongside the season launch.
The club's 2015 home-and-away campaign kicks off against Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Easter Sunday, 5 April.
