THREE of Port Adelaide's draft calls have been named in the top 30 selections of all time by the AFL’s long-serving head of talent Kevin Sheehan.
Sheehan looked at all players taken at each individual draft selection to name his best order from pick No. 1 through 30.
PHANTOM: Twomey ranks the top 30 prospects for 2015
Ten percent of the list comprised of Port Adelaide selections with Chad Wingard (best ever pick No. 6), Chad Cornes (Pick No. 9) and Shaun Burgoyne (Pick No. 12) getting the nod from Sheehan.
Wingard is a dual All-Australian player and Port's 2013 best and fairest, while Cornes enjoyed a prolific career that reaped a premiership (in 2004) and high regard from behind the pickets.
Burgoyne, picked straight out of Port Adelaide’s SANFL program back in 2000, is now a four-time AFL premiership player having won three flags with the Hawks following his first medallion with the Power in 2004.
St Kilda’s selection of Nick Riewoldt at pick No. 1 in 2000 was rated the best ever first selection by Sheehan, ahead of Luke Hodge and Jonathon Brown.
The 2015 NAB AFL Draft will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on November 24.
