SUNDAY'S crowd was the biggest Mother's Day attendance in the AFL since 1998.
It's a tremendous result for Port Adelaide playing in a Sunday twilight timeslot that typically draws a smaller crowd than more popular fixtures on Saturday.
The 38,508 that watched the Power go down to the Eagles by 10 points was also the seventh-highest Mother's Day attendance since the adoption of the AFL name in 1990, and the highest crowd to see the two sides play in Adelaide.
Port Adelaide's average home crowd sits at 46,316 for 2015 so far, which is almost 2,000 more than last year's average high.
It bodes well for a record showing for the club this year, with upcoming keynote timeslots against Richmond (Sunday 24 May, 4:10pm), Western Bulldogs (Saturday 6 June, 7:10pm) and Geelong (Friday 12 June, 7:10pm) before the mid-season bye.
