Wingard's leap into the air to try and mark a high ball from Travis Boak had the crowd on their feat as he juggled the ball back to earth, one extra grab would probably have given him control to be paid the mark.

Instead he landed with a thud and the ball spilled free, but even as Jake Neade was to celebrate kicking a goal just seconds later, the crowd was still absorbing the contortion act just witnessed.

The former All-Australian Wingard later told portadelaidefc.com.au he wasn't convinced that he got much air, and that all he was trying to do was seal the mark.

Chad, mate, you practically went into orbit.
