IT will be 651 days between AFL games for Jarrad Redden when he pulls on Port Adelaide’s teal NAB Challenge guernsey on Saturday.
The ruckman has been selected for his first game since Round 10, 2013 when the Power lost to the Bulldogs up in Darwin.
He has been named in the Power’s 29-man squad to take on Richmond in Albury on Saturday afternoon.
The game will serve as a valuable opportunity to test the mettle of some of the Power’s newest recruits and younger players.
Mitch Harvey, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Tom Logan will play their first games of this year’s NAB Challenge, while Sam Russell, Dougal Howard, Jesse Palmer and Johann Wagner, are set to make their first appearance at the elite level.
This will be one of the Power’s youngest and least experienced teams in recent memory, with the omission of Boak, Ebert, Hamish Hartlett, Robbie Gray, Kane Cornes, Alipate Carlile, Jay Schulz and Justin Westhoff.
