AARON Young is free to play in Round 1 after being handed a fine over an attempt to trip Crows player Richard Douglas during Saturday’s NAB Challenge match.
If he makes an early plea, the midfielder will fork out a $1,000 fine over the incident which occurred during the fourth quarter.
Based on available video evidence, speaking with the umpire who laid the match-day report and a medical report from the Crows, the Match Review Panel decided it was an attempted trip.
The offence was classified as a $1500 sanction under the table of penalties. Young has no applicable bad record and an early plea can reduce the penalty to a $1000.
