PORT Adelaide forward Jay Schulz says Robbie Gray is poised to take his game to another level in 2015.
On the back of Gray being awarded the AFL Coaches’ Association Medal and his first club champion award in 2014, Schulz admitted to being in awe of the classy midfielder.
“Robbie Gray seems to have impressed me even more somehow, he’s just been outstanding,” Schulz said.
“Some of the things he has done so far in this pre-season, especially in our match play in close, well, I don’t know if you can be in awe of one of your own teammates but that’s what it’s like at the moment.
“He does some things which I am unsure of how he can do or how anyone can do.”
The veteran forward described Gray as one of the top 10 players in the AFL, and said his ability to impact both in the midfield and up forward helped make him so dangerous.
Schulz also highlighted the ruck duo of Patrick Ryder and Matthew Lobbe, saying Gray will relish feeding off the new formation.
“He reads the ball so well inside off both ruckman.
“He’ll enjoy having both of those fellas, two genuine, super ruckmen, and so different in their own right.
“I think it’s going to cause some headaches for our opposition.”
