ONE of Port Adelaide’s biggest home-game traditions, the March from the Mall is a firm fan favourite and drawing bigger crowds than ever in 2015.
Port Adelaide and the Rundle Mall Management Authority have been thrilled with the vocal sea of black, white and teal that has brought the Mall to life before each Power home game this year.
The Power army - led by the Port Adelaide Cheer Squad and the Rundle Mall Renegades - congregates in the Mall and marches to the Adelaide Oval 80 minutes before the first bounce.
Chanting their way between two of Adelaide’s most iconic spaces, the Power’s devoted fans show their pride for the club in true Port Adelaide style - loud and passionate.
Port Adelaide's membership manager Ben Demertzis says the March from the Mall is one of the club's most exciting and engaging events on game day.
"The atmosphere of the March from the Mall is phenomenal and we know everyone appreciates the opportunity to walk to games as one community," Demertzis says.
"We have the most passionate fans in the AFL and we hope to continue that all year at every home game.
Rundle Mall Chief Executive Officer Ian Darbyshire encourages the Power faithful to visit the precinct early, so to enjoy all the experiences the Mall has to offer.
“You can turn an afternoon at the footy into a day in the city, jam-packed with entertainment, shopping and dining,” he said.
"The Mall precinct has hundreds of retailers, delicious food, lively bars and entertaining buskers, so why not come down early and enjoy the electric atmosphere?"
