Port Adelaide has made three changes despite its inspired victory over North Melbourne last weekend. Brad Ebert returns from injury, while Jared Polec and John Butcher have reclaimed their places in the AFL line-up after strong performances for the Magpies.

They replace Karl Amon (omitted), Jake Neade (illness) and Charlie Dixon (injured).

Nathan Wilson replaces Jack Steele (hand injury) in the GWS line-up.

SEE HOW BOTH TEAMS WILL LINE UP

The story since...

Port Adelaide and GWS met in Canberra earlier this year in what some would still label the Power's worst performance this year. Easily dismantled by the Giants, the Power have since battled to find consistent form, however its post-bye efforts - including against league-leaders Hawthorn, have been marked improvements on its up-and-down start to the year.

Wet 'n Wild

It's going to be a wet game. Showers leading up to the first bounce will see to that. The question that matters is simple - who will handle the conditions better? Port are a competitive side in the wet, and have been since Ken Hinkley arrived, but the Giants are unlike Collingwood and Richmond - the two teams it has beaten in the rain this year.

The Blueprint

Port was a sleek operation against the Roos last week, with a strong win that capitalised on errant North kicking and punished on the rebound. Notably, the forward line lapped up the Power's midfield wins, and with Justin Westhoff and Jay Schulz lighting up, along with Robbie Gray and Chad Wingard's mercurial talents surging forward, the Power was exciting and hard to match.

Getting the lines to gel has been a challenge this year, but the last three matches have shown definite signs that the Power is getting it right at the pointy end of the year.

Final Word

With North getting up, the permutations of the season are closing in on the Power. Port simply needs to get on with the job.

Port Adelaide hosts GWS Giants at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday 24 July at 4.10pm ACST. Tickets available at the gate.
