ROBBIE GRAY says he’ll reflect on winning a record fourth Showdown Medal in the future but for now his focus is on beating West Coast and keeping his side in the premiership hunt.

Gray became only the second player, after Power great Josh Francou, to win two Showdown Medals in a single season.

Francou achieved the feat in 2001.

Gray starred in the Power’s loss to Adelaide last Saturday with 20 disposals and four goals but he told Melbourne radio station RSN’s Breakfast Club program he hadn’t thought much about his medal win.

“I was just shattered that we couldn’t get the result so I haven’t really given it much thought,” he said.

“It was such a big game for our season and our footy club so I was really disappointed about that.

“It might be something I look back at, but I’m just really focussed on this week.”

The next challenge is the second-placed Eagles at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The Power has slipped to seventh on the back of just one win in its past four games but Gray said the feeling was positive around the group with signs of improvement.

“We did some things better than we have been (against Adelaide),” he said.

“We probably haven’t put the full game together yet but we think we’re playing ok footy the last few weeks.

“Even in the GWS game we showed some good signs without getting the result but we think some things are coming together that we’ve been working on, particularly from a ball movement point of view, which we’ve sort of struggled with a bit throughout the year.

“We’re confident, we’ve got three tough games to go, we’re right in the mix now and we’ve got to be playing our best footy at this time of year.”

When questioned about whether there was any tension amongst the group given the Power could drop out of the top eight if the result goes against it on Saturday, Gray said that hadn’t been discussed.

“There’s a really good feeling amongst the group and we’re really confident in our ability so we haven’t really given that much thought at all,” he said.

“We’re just focussing on what we need to get right this weekend to help us get the result.

“Three huge games to go and then hopefully some more after that and that’s all we’re focussed on.”
