PORT ADELAIDE Magpies kick off their pre-season campaign with a trial game against Woodville West Torrens at Hickinbothom Oval (Noarlunga) on Friday, March 10.

The League clash commences at 6pm, while the Reserves will also have a trial against the Eagles starting at 8.10pm.

Magpies senior coach Matthew Lokan says it’s a fantastic opportunity for the young group to gel in a competitive match situation.

“We have already played in the Fast Footy competition, but it will be great to get back into the traditional format,” Lokan told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“The boys have had a strong pre-season and have been training really well.

“To have a few competitive hit-outs prior to our season starting at the end of the month, is really important for our younger group.”

The Magpies will also play Adelaide in a pre-season fixture at Alberton Oval on Friday, March 23 at 4.30pm – before the two teams meet again a week later in Round 1 of the SANFL season.
