THE Cora Barclay Centre is Port Adelaide’s official charity partner for Thursday’s clash between the Power and the Hawks at Adelaide Oval.

The Cora Barclay Centre is Australia’s oldest and most comprehensive organisations providing intensive therapy, programs and support services to children who are deaf or hearing impaired.

The charity aims to achieve life-long social and emotional wellbeing and economic independence through support services, such as auditory verbal therapy, rural and remote services, peer support groups, speech pathology and child and family counselling.

These services are provided at the Cora Barclay Centre in North Adelaide, at a child’s home, school, kindergarten or childcare centre or via video conferencing.

The Cora Barclay Centre works in conjunction with Power Community Ltd to provide their Hear to Listen Aboriginal Support Services Program to indigenous children with hearing difficulties.

“We are proud of the work Cora Barclay Centre does in helping young children with hearing loss and will continue to support their service in remote communities,” Port Adelaide's Aboriginal Programs Manager, Paul Vandenbergh said.

Donations to the Cora Barclay Centre ensures the continual support of South Australian families with hearing impaired children and enables the centre to keep their promise to never charge for core services or place any family who needs their help on a waiting list.

Volunteers will be collecting donations outside the gates at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.

Port Adelaide plays Hawthorn on Thursday 7 July at 7.20pm at the Adelaide Oval.
