CHANNEL 7 has announced it will broadcast Sunday’s Bushfire T20 Showdown live into South Australia.
The charity event, which will see 100 per cent of net proceeds from ticketing, catering, sponsorship and all other donations go to the state’s bushfire appeal, will be broadcast on Channel 7 Adelaide from 2:30pm.
The event is being put on by Adelaide Oval, SACA, the Port Adelaide Football Club and the Adelaide Football Club to raise vital funds for people directly affected by bushfires in the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island in recent months, with teams representing Port Adelaide and Adelaide to take to Adelaide Oval.
Port Adelaide’s Tom Jonas and Adelaide’s Tom Lynch will captain their respective sides, with both leaders determined to secure the T20 Showdown honours.
With underage state cricket representation and premiership experience on both teams, combined with bragging rights, it’ll be ‘game on’ from the moment the players take to the field.
There will be eight AFL players on each side. The remaining players for each team will comprise of four Adelaide Strikers/Redbacks players, one South Australian female cricketer and a CFS volunteer.
The Seven Network has united with broadcast production partners NEP and Alston Elliot Australia Graphics to donate their time and services to broadcast the Showdown live to SA on Channel 7 and nationally on 7Plus.
7Cricket’s James Brayshaw and 7AFL’s Mark Soderstrom will co-host the match with 7Cricket commentator Greg Blewett & 7NEWS Chief AFL Reporter Theo Doropoulos and Amelia Mulcahy capturing all the fours, sixes and game-turning wickets. More commentators will be announced leading into the match.
All tickets are being sold as general admission tickets and are priced at $20 for adults, $5 for kids and $40 for families. The State Government has also announced that it will be providing free public transport to all those attending the match.
Tickets to the Bushfire T20 Showdown are now on sale.
