Travis Boak gets a handball away during the Power's last meeting with the Suns.

PORT ADELAIDE’s round 1 fixture against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday evening will start 15 minutes later than originally planned.

The Power will open its season against the Suns at 7.10pm ACDT on Saturday evening, as opposed to 6.55pm ACDT which was originally stated.

Two other round 1 fixtures of the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season have also been affected, with Thursday night’s season opener between Richmond and Carlton and Saturday night’s Geelong and GWS clash both pushed back 15 minutes as well.

The AFL also announced this week the shortening of all quarters from 20 to 16 minutes plus time on due to coronavirus measures, with the view to be able to fit more games in a condensed period of time if need be.

Port Adelaide’s clash with the Suns will be broadcast on Fox Sports 3 from 6.30pm ACDT and Channel 7 from 6.50pm ACDT, with a screening of the club’s 150th anniversary documentary Onward to Victory following the Channel 7 broadcast.

The final team to face the Gold Coast Suns in the opening round of the season will be announced on Thursday afternoon.
