WITH the 2020 Toyota AFL Premiership Season upon us, it means AFL Fantasy has begun, and there are a number of Port Adelaide players who could be in contention for your team this year.

Before tonight’s lockout here are a couple of Power players you should consider before the competition gets into full swing.

MITCH GEORGIADES $236k FWD:

Mitch Georgiades is a no-brainer, with the exciting young forward named in Port’s side to play Gold Coast in round 1.

Georgiades has played in every pre-season fixture for the Power, and will be a focal point in Ken Hinkley’s forward line with the absence of Charlie Dixon.

The Western Australian product will add plenty of value this season.

TRAVIS BOAK $784k MID:

Travis Boak was a revelation going back into the midfield for the Power in 2019, and if his pre-season form is anything to go by then he is a must-have.

Boak averaged 105.7 points per game last year, topping 100 in 14 of his 21 games, to be one of the most consistent players of the season.

He is in the elite category of premium midfielders and expect him to stay there with plenty of on-ball time expected in 2020.

Boak has only been selected in just over 1 per cent of AFL Fantasy teams this year to date. A nice point of difference.

CONNOR ROZEE 539k FWD:

Connor Rozee was the runner-up in last year’s NAB AFL Rising Star award and he was also very impressive in AFL Fantasy.

Rozee has been flagged for some more midfield minutes in season 2020, and has the ability to continue to increase his value.

With forward spots difficult to fill this year, he could be a very good option.

DAN HOUSTON $596k DEF/MID:

Dan Houston is one of the steals of this year’s Fantasy competition, with the exciting prospect expected to play huge midfield minutes.

Houston was an elite scorer when pushed into the midfield in 2019, and with a dual position assigned to him, he is a must-have.

He is currently selected in more than 45 per cent of teams. Expect plenty of value.

SCOTT LYCETT $619k RUC:

Scott Lycett was a big scorer when he played as a sole ruckman for the Power last season, and with Brodie Grundy and Max Gawn extremely expensive, he is a strong option.

Consecutive scores of 130, 140 and 104 when he was the sole ruckman last season should give coaches something to think about if they don’t want to spend the cash on the big two.
