CARLTON vice-captain accepted a two-week ban for rough conduct in a tackle that led to Robbie Gray being concussed.
Blues footy chief Andrew McKay told Carlton’s website the decision to accept the ban meant Gibbs would only miss two weeks.
Had he been found guilty at the tribunal, the former Glenelg player would have been scratched for longer.

“We believe Bryce executed a fair tackle and it was never his intention to cause injury,” McKay said.
“Given the Match Review Panel's history around similar incidents we thought it was in the best interests of both Bryce and the club to accept the sanction.
"Had we challenged the charge and lost we would have been without Bryce for three weeks."
INJURY UPDATE: Gray OK for Swans
Gray was stretchered from the field following the tackle and subbed from the game, although will be fine to play against Sydney next week.
On Monday, Chad Wingard said the Gibbs tackle was part of the "physical" game of footy, describing the tackle as part of the game.
"It's a physical game, it's football, we're not playing soccer or we're not playing a game where you can't hit them," Wingard said.
"The positive thing is [Robbie's] fine, he gave us the thumbs up and he's here today and he's ready to go."
Ken Hinkley also described Gray's concussion as "unfortunate"
"The intent to tackle was just to tackle and wrap him up," Hinkley said.
"The unfortunate part is on the follow through he hits his head on the ground — I'm not sure how you can help that, it was disappointing to lose Robbie though because he was playing fairly good footy."
