Stat of the week – one percenters

Although considered small on the statistical front, one-percenters can make a big impact on field – the little things that can help a team gain an edge in play.

Champion Data determines one-percenters through four actions: knock-ons, spoils, smothers and shepherds.

Jack Hombsch is currently the leading one-percenter-getter across the league this year, with 109 acts in total.

He leads Sam Rowe of Carlton (103), Daniel Talia of Adelaide (95), Zac Dawson of Fremantle (90) and Tom McDonald of Melbourne (90).

In 2013, Hombsch clocked up a total of 15 one-percenters during a clash against the Bulldogs.

Port Adelaide plays Western Bulldogs at the Adelaide Oval at 1.10pm (AEST) on Saturday 11 June. Tickets are available online and at the gate. Can’t make the game? Pass your ticket to a mate.
