Mick's Easter classic
On that blazing Easter Monday in 1994, Magpie Mick McGuane gathered the ball in the centre, took on Fraser Brown, had six bounces, dodged past Michael Sexton and kicked a goal that sent the MCG into varying degrees of delirium and despair. Just like the early explorers, McGuane darted all over the place and in terms of actual metres gained, probably started his run from inside the Bullring Bar in the MCC Members Reserve. McGuane actually finished his career with three undistinguished games for the Blues in 1997 but it is fair to say, the motor was stuffed by then.Hover your mouse to pause the gif and scroll forwards or backwards
White burns hot against ex-teammates
This was a one-on-one contest with Tiger Steven Morris and White was simply too quick. What makes this goal all the more meritorious is that White put on the jets because, well, he had no choice; time was slipping away from Port so White took the direct path to goal with barely a deviation. You also wonder what was going through his mind when he saw that that it was Morris doing the chasing. White was a Tiger until the start of this year and you have to wonder whether he looked in his rearview mirror, recalled all those running sessions back in the day and thought to himself, "I've got this bloke."Hover your mouse to pause the gif and scroll forwards or backwards
