SEVERAL players are poised for return to the Port Adelaide side this weekend with four men set to be tested ahead of Sunday’s home clash against Hawthorn.

Leading the number of possible returns is John McCarthy who was a late withdrawal from Saturday night’s win over Carlton with a corked calf.

Goal sneak John Butcher has been recovering from a hip complaint for several weeks after his performance against Richmond and Fremantle was impeded. He, as with McCarthy, will be tested this week ahead of selection for the Hawthorn game.

Youngsters Aaron Young (ankle), Jasper Pittard and Cam Hitchcock (hamstring) will all be tested ahead of the match.

Mitch Banner and Nick Salter both remain three weeks away from a return to full flight football with knee and foot injuries respectively. Both continue to progress well through recuperation.

Travis Boak underwent foot surgery on Monday afternoon and is expected to miss four weeks as part of his recovery, and may return against Adelaide in Round 15.

As reported on Sunday on PortAdelaideFC.com.au, Jay Schulz has been cleared of any internal damage following a knock against the Blues and is a chance to play in Round 11.
