THE SIX POINTS
1. After starting the year with a 39-point loss to Eagles, Sturt has won its last three games by an average of 28 points. Forward Kory Beard is one to watch with 12 goals so far this season, including five in their last hit out.
2. Jackson Trengove is a certain out while Chad Wingard faces a fitness test, and Hinkley has stated the selection door is open for the AFL side, giving some boys a chance to get another run in the firsts.
3. Jared Polec and Brendon Ah Chee responded to being dropped with high-disposal games, while John Butcher and Sam Colquhoun again keep pushing for selection with consistent performances.
4. Some long awaited good news for Port Adelaide came with tall defender Tom Clurey making his return from injury against Centrals. Clurey racked up 17 disposals and 8 marks in his first game of the year.
5. On the flip side, rookie midfielder Will Snelling fractured his foot and will miss an indefinite period of time on the sidelines, with the potential need for surgery.
6. The last time Port Adelaide started 1-4 was in 2013.
FINAL WORD
Movement is expected between the two Port Adelaide sides, and coach Chad Cornes is calling for more from his AFL-listed players. Still searching for a four-quarter effort, the Magpies will be looking to nail the basics as they try and turn the season around.
