KT confident on Gray deal
CEO Keith Thomas says he's confident Robbie Gray will re-sign with the club.
Thomas told Trade Radio on Tuesday afternoon that a deal with Gray was in the pipeline.
“There is an offer in front of Robbie,” Thomas said.
“It’s been floated without any vigour at this stage. You can tell by the lack of urgency in my voice that it’s not an issue.”
Gray had a career-best year in 2014, winning the AFL Coaches Association Award and earning his first All-Australian selection and Cahill Medal as the Power’s best and fairest.
The 26-year-old is contracted until the end of 2015, but Thomas was hopeful a deal would be reached sooner rather than later.
“Robbie is a really loyal kid and he’s had a fantastic year. We would like to get that (his contract) sorted out sooner rather than later.
“When Robbie did his knee, we put him at ease and secured him for three years. These things are two-way relationships over many years.
“Good quality people, which Robbie is, respect and understand that.
“Generally, players like to stay at the clubs they are at and we hope that’s the case with Robbie.”
