Buddha reviews the form of the Magpies boys after their big win over Sturt.

Peter Jackson SANFL Player of the Week

Tom Logan
Really strong performance which has become expected from Tommy. He played on Sturt’s dangerous smalls but was able to help us rebound the ball and win his fair share of it as well. In very good form and is using the ball well across half back.

Round 6 Player Reviews

Tom Clurey
Did a fantastic job on Duldig in his 150th game, kept him to one goal and really worked hard to position himself in the right spots while looking to win his own ball as well. He learned a lot from his experience playing on Taylor Walker.

Andrew Moore
Strong performance again by Moorey with 24 possessions through the midfield. He is really giving us some good first possession and pressure around the stoppages. Was able to also impact the scoreboard with two goals.

Karl Amon
Chalk and cheese this week for Karl. He suffered a head knock in the first quarter and was unable to influence any part of the game after half time.

Mitch Harvey
Got into the game early again this week and had some early shots on goal. His ruck work is really improving and again he laid a strong tackle inside 50. Showed some real class at times with some clean ball use off the ground and I feel he is heading in the right direction.

Steven Summerton
Firstly, I would like to congratulate Summo on his State training squad selection - this has come off the back of some really good performances. Secondly, on his performance on Sunday, all that really needs be said is that he again showed his class against an in-form Sturt on the weekend and continues to provide great leadership.

Angus Bruggemann

With Renouf being called up for AFL duties we again looked to Bruggers to fill the ruck spot for us. He battled really hard and was also a bit of a target up forward, particularly in the second quarter when we were challenged, he was able to mark the ball and steady the ship. Solid performance.

Ben Haren
Ben had little impact on the game this week, suffered a hip injury during the second quarter and did not return to the field.

Campbell Heath
Campbell is getting into really good form. He reads the game very well and I like the fact that he rebounded the ball from defence with some real class.

John Butcher
I was excited about Butch getting into the action early, he looked lively and he really went for his marks inside 50. Received a knock to his hip late in the game which limited his output. Three goals from a solid work rate but he also assisted in a couple of others.

Anthony Biemans
Biemer looked like he struggled early to get into the flow of the game, we sent him to Kirkwood just after the main break but I was not happy with this match up and he found his mojo up forward and through the midfield. Great performance in the end with 27 possessions and three goals.

Cam O’Shea
Had the big task of playing on Coad, I felt he did really well and was able to stop his influence. Coad was forced to go back into defence due to Cam controlling the match up.

Daniel Flynn
I was really pleased with Daniels performance this week, we settled him down back and kept it simple fór him. He really attacks the game with his speed and energy from half back and he did finish off his work with some quality possession. You can just see he is going to be really exciting as the season rolls on.

Sam Gray
Sam has been a little down on output the last couple of weeks, but he still has shown in patches his class around stoppage and in general play. We will need his best this week against the in-form South midfield.

Nathan Krakouer
Continues to impress down back, slowly finding his feet and starting to look really composed when in possession. Had a little stint on ball due to fewer rotations as well as a spell up forward. Improving each week.

Jake Neade
Jake is knocking on the door for AFL selection, again his pressure was of a high standard as well as his speed and energy when in possession. 16 disposals and five tackles is a good balance in his game.

Henry Slattery
Slatts got going early this week and gave us good possession early in the game. Unfortunately just on half time he involved in a incident that led to him being him reported, as well as himself being concussed and missing the remainder of the game.

Paul Stewart
Stewie returned from AFL duties and he was really good for us right throughout the game. A mixture of forward and on ball, he is winning his own ball and setting us up with good decisions going inside 50.

Darcy Byrne-Jones
Darcy came back into the team from injury this week and his first half was OK. He then went to Kirkwood and did a great job as well as finding the ball himself. We love the way he attacks the footy and tackles with real intensity, but we would like this to be consistent across four quarters.

Ben Newton
Just another high quality game from Newts - he looks really confident and is hurting the opposition with every possession. He learned a lot from his first AFL game and with this form it shouldn't be too long before he gets another chance. Very unlucky not to be our Player of the Week.

Brendon Ah Chee
Like Darcy, Arch returned to the team from the injury list, with quite a solid game. Showed some highlights at times with his ball use and his ability to mark the high ball going inside our forward line. Consistency is now the key for him.
