Irishman to debut for Magpies
Garry Hocking confirms Daniel Flynn will make his League debut for the Magpies
"Flynny's ready to go, he'll play his first game, so that's exciting for him to get back over and play," Hocking said.
"It's a great opportunity for him."
Flynn only returned to Adelaide a week ago after taking a two-month break back in Ireland to be with family.
His debut comes as the Magpies look to win the first 'SANFL Showdown' against the Crows state league side in Clare on Sunday.
Hocking said he expects the Crows to name Taylor Walker in a follow-up appearance this weekend and a number of defenders could get the job on the key Adelaide forward.
"We're expecting him [Walker] to play, he played some good footy last week ... and it would be great to have the best players playing - we're trying to do that, I guess Heath [Younie, Crows SANFL coach] is trying to as well," Hocking said.
"I think it would be great for the Clare community and also great for our young defenders - another player they get to learn to play against and someone of Tex's quality.
"Tom [Clurey] has hinted he'd like the opportunity ... we've also got Cam O'Shea, Ben Haren, Campbell Heath, so we've got some flexibility there."
Port Adelaide will name its SANFL side to play the Crows team at 5:55pm on Thursday evening.
