It’s a well-balanced team that will take on the reigning premiers at 7:15pm on Thursday night, with a mix of AFL and SANFL-listed players taking the field for the Magpies.
Steven Summerton will start in the middle in his first game as leader of the Magpies, wearing the traditional No. 1 prisonbar captain’s guernsey.
He will be joined by vice-captain Henry Slattery and fellow senior-listed Magpies Anthony Biemans, Angus Bruggemann, Ben Haren, Louis Sharrad, Aseri Raikiwasa and Ben Sawford in the side.
Ben Newton will not play for the Magpies after suffering a concussion in the club’s last trial game against North Adelaide on Friday. He is expected to be available next week.
Action will get underway at The Parade at 7:15pm with the Academy team playing Norwood’s reserves at 4:30pm.
