Young bullock powers his way to second Gavin Wanganeen Medal
Fine Wines' second vintage as good as his first.
The medal was presented by Port Adelaide’s inaugural captain Wanganeen at the club’s annual John Cahill Medal presentation night, with Wines adjudged the Power’s best player under the age of 21 for a second consecutive year.
Wines was a consistent performer for Port Adelaide in 2014, producing strong efforts as a tough inside midfielder on numerous occasions.
The 19-year-old played every game in the 2014 season, following on from his unbroken run of games in his debut campaign last year.
It means he will play his 50th club game in equal-record time for games eligible and be the fastest Power player to reach the milestone if he plays in Round 1 next year.
Averaging 24 disposals a game and kicking 14 goals for the season, Wines is now a staple of the Port Adelaide first 22.
