"Robbie's got a sore back," said a matter-of-fact Hinkley.
"If it was Round 1 tomorrow then he would be playing, but we figure it's just a trial match so we need not take any risks.
"He'll be fine for next week."
Port Adelaide will host two trial games at Alberton Oval on Saturday morning.
The Magpies will take on the Panthers in the first game commencing at 9:45am before the Power goes head-to-head with the Saints at 12:30pm.
