TRAVIS BOAK has issued the battle call to Port Adelaide’s supporters in the lead up to Saturday night’s blockbuster against Hawthorn at the Adelaide Oval, saying his team will need a massive crowd to get over the line against the reigning premiers.

The Power captain wrote a letter to reserved seat members of the club on Monday asking them to hand their membership card to a friend or family member if they were unable to make the 7:10pm match.

He reinforced his call to arms on Tuesday.

“We’ve had our biggest crowds all year and we want to have another big one against the Hawks, it should be a huge night,” Boak said.

“The boys love playing in front of a big crowd and our fans know how much their support at the game gets us over the line.

“We want to make sure all our reserved seat members are at the game, and if they can’t be there, we’d love them to treat family or a friend to their seat for the game to cheer us on.”

With pre-match moments like the team run out featuring Rudimental’s motivating ‘Not Giving In’ and the increasingly popular INXS anthem ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ in the lead up to the first bounce, supporters have been treated to a fan experience like never before this year.

And with less than 200 tickets expected to be made available in the final public ticket release on Wednesday at 12pm, a 3-game Port Adelaide membership is shaping as the best value way to see Saturday’s match, and up to two of the Power’s remaining six home games.

Remaining public tickets sold out in four minutes on the Wednesday before the Power’s first game against the Crows in Round 2.

“While there will be a small batch of public tickets available on Wednesday, they won’t last long,” the club’s general manager – member services Matthew Richardson said.

“But our 3-game membership will grant general admission access* to Saturday night’s game and any of our six remaining home games, including other night blockbusters against Essendon, Sydney and Carlton.

“We think it’s the best value way to see Saturday night’s game.”

The game itself will be an exciting spectacle, with the Power coming up against the reigning premiers for the first time this year.

Boak is looking forward to playing in front of a huge crowd, and says the club’s supporters will give the extra boost needed against the competition benchmark.

“It’s a massive game for us and a big challenge, so we’ll need all the help we can get from our supporters,” Boak said.

“Hawthorn is still the benchmark in the competition, and we know it will be a huge test of our side, but we’re confident we’re up to the task.

“It would be great if we can get a big Power crowd to the game to help us out.”

Port Adelaide plays Hawthorn at 7:10pm on Saturday night. The Aboriginal Power Cup finals and a formal Welcome to Country ceremony will be held as a curtain-raiser to the game when gates open at 5:00pm.
